Board of Adjustment
Overview
The Board of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial board given authority by law to hear appeals from interpretations and enforcement actions of the Services and Development Department, approve variances from the development regulations, and issue Conditional Use Permits for certain land uses and types of development. Board of Adjustment decisions may not be appealed to the County Board of Commissioners but are subject to review on appeal by the Yadkin County Superior Court. The Board of Adjustment consists of five members and two alternates appointed by the County Commissioners for a term of three years.
